Aboard today was Brian, Joe and Harrison. Spot bite was pretty good at the deeper reef. Lugworms still on fire for the Spot bite. They filled up the live well pretty good, kept some smaller ones for bait. Harrison wanted to get a shark, so we put the live spot out and sure enough the bite came but no hookup just a spot head left. Still wanting to get something with some more size to it we pulled up and moved to a spot that usually holds some bigger fish. with the tide coming in the bluefish showed up. soon after we got strong bite on one rod and i thought it might be what Harrison was looking for ... he started cranking on it and after the first run he handed it off to his dad, soon after with no head shake, I could tell it was ray. After the 2nd run the other rod went off and they were doubled up. we manage to get them both in the boat, 2 southern rays. For the day they took home 60 spot 5 whiting and 3 blues. throw backs were small croakers, spot, and 1 lizard fish. sun was out. wind was just enough to cool you down, couldn't ask for better day on the water. water temp back up to 78-80° jellyfish moving around. Pleasure to meet you all!
