Reel LuLu Fishing Report

Had the pleasure of taking out my niece Kelly and her boyfriend Matt in from Colorado. we got on a fish with in the first 30 mins of rigging. but Wind was blowing and the wave picked up by 12pm it was pretty sporty out there. we only got the 1 today was 26". Heard bite is still strong in the Potomac we just didn't get up there due to conditions.

We went out scouting the bay for the northern fish, that come in the bay, seems the big girls are here we hooked up two over slots first one was on light spinning tackle and was pretty good battle until it shook lose. second one stayed stuck and we got her in, sea lice on her. quick measured 40" and pic, then back in the water. heard a lot of other over slots being caught near the cut channel also. some boats that ran up into Maryland water found few keepers. On a mission today to get Mj on his first Rockfish for the season. Ended up with an over slot, but better the nothing for the day. plenty of big mark in the channel and bait on the ledges but fish were lockjawed. We had couple misses on the tandems. Temp still warm on the river. surface got up to 57/58 degree. The sun was out, wind was light and Mj got a 26" Rockfish.

Botton Fishing bite still going really well! We had Tarik aboard with Malcolm, Elijah, and Chris. They all did great, kept about a bucket full of spot with few blues and puffer fish in there. Also, one 20'' Whiting. Released about 6 Short flounder, 2 specks, 1 grey trout. lots of Pigfish and juvenile sea bass.
